Join us for a corporate team day with a difference.
We’ll journey into the woods together and you’ll learn the art of firelighting without matches, using traditional flint and steel, or fire steels, to light man-made and natural tinder. You’ll forage for firewood and create a group campfire. Around the campfire you’ll discover some local legends and myths which surround the fire. The fire will be the source of campfire snacks and hot drinks to sustain us, and keep us warm. We may use the campfire for crafts; you could cast your own pewter object over the fire, to make into a keyring or pendant to take home, or dabble in leathercraft making a leather keyring or wristband. If you’re staying for lunch we may go on a foraging walk to collect some native wildfoods to enhance your campfire lunch.
A choice of activities can be provided for the afternoon;
Den building-can the team work together to build a waterproof den to shelter in?
Or would you like to do some practical conservation-plant trees (winter only) invasive species control (summer) or something different?
Or use the time in the woods to simply relax or play around the fire, we can provide hammocks, blankets, slack lines, whittling, instruments and other opportunities to unwind around the fire.
You could have an additional craft session and make healing natural balms, willow weaving or leaf crafts. Or select a couple of these activities.
Sessions are unique and will be bespoke for your group. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. Dietary requirements can be catered for.
Sessions are led by a team of rangers who have a wealth of experience and qualifications in; environmental education, team building, practical conservation, bushcraft, foraging and forest school.
